Occupational Safety, Health, Security and Environmental Committee Mission

A primary goal of District 142,141 and Local 2930 is for a safe and healthful work environment for its members. District 142,141 and Local 2930 supports each member’s right and responsibility to work in a safe and healthful environment utilizing the proper safety equipment and work practices.

The District 142,141 and Local 2930 Occupational Safety, Health, Security and Environmental Committee, through its network of Safety Coordinators and Local Safety Committees, will provide leadership in the following areas:

Develop partnerships with their respective employers to mutually achieve an accident-free workplace
Provide training and awareness to the members on occupational health, safety and the environment
Represent the membership before government, enforcement and policy setting organizations
Serve as legislative advocates on safety, health and environmental issues
Stay current on new technologies and information through safety and health organizations
Interact with safety and health representatives at other air carriers and associated industry workplaces
Strive for consistent industry-wide joint management human factors programs

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)

Please report all safety incidents and concerns to airline management and union representatives as soon as possible. If you are not satisfied with the results, please follow up by filing a report with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)

. Tasked with providing the safest, most efficient aerospace system in the world. Ground Safety Action Program reports at United are automatically reviewed by the FAA. In addition. FAA.Gov offers access to laser reporting, hotlines, and additional resources.

National Safety Council (NSC)

The National Safety Council eliminates preventable deaths at work, in homes and communities, and on the road through leadership, research, education and advocacy.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

Working to prevent the transmission of diseases in the United States through travel notices, advisories, research and education.
